Boating safety is a mindset; a wholistic approach to everything from trailering to maintenance to driving. And it's the responsibility of every boater to embrace and foster a culture of safety from the moment the trailer is hooked up until the day is done and the boat is put away.

Going boating – especially in an unfamiliar body of water – requires a bit more preparation and attention to detail than your average car trip. You'll need charts to help you find your way and an accurate weather forecast to help keep you safe and comfortable. Plus, local intel about tides, sandbars to avoid and location of resources such as fuel docks can be a big help.
